Konkan region is the mouth of UNESCO World Heritage site of Western Ghats. The place receives torrential rains and has brief spell of chilly winters with the climate usually remaining hot and humid during other parts of the year. However, the time period around February and April, when Velas turtle festival dates fall, is the best time to witness natural at its best in favourable weather conditions. It is the fag end of winter and the weather is cold enough to feel pleasant and not stinging cold. Moreover, the misty climate is also the time for bloom and hence the nature too serves up its best for our senses during this time!
